THE FEUDAL ESTATE
In the XI th century, where the mountains begin to rise between the Pellice and Po valleys, stood the Bagnolo Castle surrounded by defence walls. Under it stood the Plain Castle and the village of Bagnolo.

The Castle and the walls still are as they where depicted in the XIX th century while the village has mostly disappeared. The Plain Castle, which was part of the village until the XV th century, has been modified and is today known as the Palace of Bagnolo.

The typical "losa" stone roofs and the mixture of rural and noble elements both welcome the hosts and make the estate a lively testimony of an antique culture.

Since 1950 farming has been reduced transforming what once was an agricultural landscape, into a park. Fields, vineyards and orchards stand between the newly planted trees (chestnuts, birches, beeches, conifers). In the midst of this park stand the farms (with their wells, stables and ovens) and the Mills (the blacksmith's, the carpenter's and the miller's are still visible). All these buildings where part of the Feud of Malingri di Bagnolo.

Almost all of these stone buildings have been restored and, when possible, their original use has been preserved along with the tools.

Today the owner is Barone Arch. Aimaro Oreglia d’Isola, son of Caterina Malingri di Bagnolo, last heir of the Malingri di Bagnolo family.

Throughout eight centuries the Malingri family has preserved and restored the Palace, the park, the Castle and the historical and architectural value of the estate, continuing to live in it, overcoming many difficulties.
